SIGNAL IDUNA TRAVEL Insurance covers, among others, costs of medical treatment, consequences of unfortunate accidents, traveller's luggage and civil liability insurance.

Insurance agreements are concluded on the basis of the General Terms of Insurance with natural persons having a permanent address within the territory of the Republic of Poland. Under SIGNAL IDUNA TRAVEL Insurance, the Client can choose from one of two options: STANDARD or SUPER.

.STANDARD Option Insurance includes:
  • costs of medical treatment,
  • consequences of unfortunate accidents,
  • traveller's luggage.
SUPER Option Insurance includes:
  • costs of medical treatment,
  • consequences of unfortunate accidents,
  • traveller's luggage,
  • civil liability..
Insurance sums are:
  • In case of medical treatment expenses - from 10,000 EUR to 50,000 EUR,
  • In case of consequences of unfortunate accidents - 7,000 PLN or 16,000 PLN,
  • In case of traveller's luggage - 800 PLN or 1.800 PLN. There is also a possibility of increasing the sum of luggage insurance by a maximum of 2,000 PLN

  • in case of civil liability -100,000 EUR.li]
Insurance protection may cover also costs of medical treatment and consequences of unfortunate accidents involving additional risk, such as working abroad, additional risk, such as work abroad, horse riding, hunting, scuba diving, practising of professional sports, participation in competitions, races, practising of motor and air sports, high-mountain climbing, speleology, consequences of chronic diseases. The basic insurance premium for the selected option, in case of additional being covered by insurance protection, is raised on a percentage basis.



INSURANCE OF COSTS OF MEDICAL TREATMENT:

Insurance agreement may be concluded according to one or two options (STANDARD or SUPER) differing in the range of insurance protection.


STANDARD Option of Medical Treatment Expenses Insurance agreement in case of a sudden illness or an unfortunate accident provides:
  • refund of any costs sustained for medical procedures,
  • purchase of medicines,
  • transport of the insured person to hospital,
  • stay in hospital,
  • transport to the home country,
  • refund of dental treatment costs up to the amount of 150 EUR,
  • refund of extra costs of travel and stay of an accompanying persons, if his or her presence is necessary for arrangment of the return of the insured person to his or her country,
  • refund of costs of transportation of the insured person's corpse to the place of burial in the Republic of Poland or costs of burial abroad,
  • refund of costs of coffin purchase.
The scope of insurance against costs of medical treatment covers also costs of visit of a person appointed by the insured person when the insured person is hospitalized for a period longer than 7 days, costs of convalescence of the insured person in the event when the transport of the insured person cannot take place directly after the termination of medical treatment, costs of transport of to a place where making it possible travel can be continued.


[b] SUPER Option of Medical Treatment Expenses Insurance agreement, apart from the above-mentioned cases, covers:
  • costs of return to the home country of family members accompanying the insured person while travelling in case of his or her hospitalization, when the originally planned means of transport cannot be used,
  • transportation costs of minor, if not accompanied by any adult. In such case SIGNAL IDUNA Polska TU S.A. arranges transport of family members and children to their place of residence (railway ticket, and if the journey is longer than 12 hours - air ticket). Transport of children takes place under the custody of a representative of SIGNAL IDUNA Polska TU S.A

  • assistance in case of discontinuatinued travel. SIGNAL IDUNA Polska TU S.A. covers any costs of transport of the insured person to the Republic of Poland, when he or she has been suddenly forced to discontinue the journey as a result of an unfortunate accident, sudden illness, death of a relative, or major damage to the property of the insured person,

  • legal assistance in the event when the insured person is in conflict with the judiciary administration in the country where he or she staying in. SIGNAL IDUNA Polska TU S.A. pays attorney fees,

  • driver replacement SIGNAL IDUNA Polska TU S.A. covers any costs of hiring a professional driver or other person with a driving licence who shall transport the insured person to Poland in the event when, as a result of illness or an unfortunate accident, health condition of the insured person, confirmed in writing by the attending physician, it is impossible for the insured person to drive his or her own car and the person accompanying the insured person does not have a driving licence. SIGNAL IDUNA Polska TU S.A. covers any costs of driver replacement up to the amount of equivalent to 500 EUR.


[b]EMERGENCY INSURANCE

Also included in the SIGNAL IDUNA TRAVEL package, Emergency Insurance is intended for people travelling abroad. This insurance guarantees compensation in case of permanent health impairment or death. Percentage health impairment is determined by physicians and the amount of benefits depends on the insurance sum selected by the insured person.



TRAVELLER'S LUGGAGE INSURANCE

Under Traveller's luggage insurance, SIGNAL IDUNA Polska TU S.A.'s insurance protection covers also the insured person's personal use items. SIGNAL IDUNA Polska TU S.A. shall be liable for loss or decrease in value of the insured property as a result of loss, destruction or damage.

Within SIGNAL IDUNA TRAVEL package, in the form extended with civil liability insurance (SUPER Option), SIGNAL IDUNA Polska TU S.A. grants insurance coverage of civil claims, arising as a result of personal or material damage caused by the insured person in the course of his or her travel abroad.

Conclusion of insurance agreement for medical treatment expenses in SIGNAL IDUNA Polska TU S.A. guarantees care and assistance to the customer during his or her stay abroad (ASSISTANCE insurance). Thanks to a few dozen 24-hour emergency centers in the world, SIGNAL IDUNA Polska TU S.A. is able to provide competent counsel and take over direct care over the insured person who reports the need of assistance associated with a sudden accident or illness. The price of insurance against costs of medical treatment includes 24-hour Emergency Center service. The emergency phone number is printed on all tourist insurance policies. Under the granted assistance it also provides transfer of messages in case of unforeseen events resulting in delay or change in the course of travel. In such case, the Emergency Center communicates necessary information to the family or employer of the insured person. The Emergency Center also provides information in case of theft or loss of traveller's documents.
